Edgar Erat Harrison is elected Master of Stationers' Company

The Company of Newspaper Makers is incorporated in the Stationers' Company.

John Henry Williams is elected Master of Stationers' Company.

1932

The Honourable Company of Master Mariners is created, the first one for 223 years.

Sir Percy Greenaway, the Master of Stationers' Company, is elected Lord Mayor of London.

P. N. McFarlane is appointed Chairman of the Livery Committee.

1933

Sir Percy Greenaway is re-elected as Master of Stationers' Company

1933

On December 5th it is announced that Edward, Prince of Wales has accepted the honorary freedom and Livery of the Company and agreed to serve as Master. The installation takes place on December 20th.

1934

R. Metchim is appointed Chairman of the Livery Committee.

1936

In January, a week before he ascends the throne as King Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales resigns the Mastership.

Sidney Hodgson is elected Master of Stationers' Company upon the resignation of the Prince of Wales. He is also appointed as Chairman of the Livery Committee.

Robert Adlard is elected Master of Stationers' Company in June 1936.

Edward VIII begins his reign after the death of his father George V, but abdicates in December in order to marry Wallis Simpson.

A Royal Charter is granted to the Stationers' Company and the Newspaper Makers' Company, under the name of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.

The Daily Telegraph absorbs the Morning Post after poor sales for the Morning Post.

Lord Iliffe is elected Master of Stationers' Company in January 1938.

The Court Room, which was damaged in 1940 by enemy fire during the war, is restored.

Stationers' holds the four hundredth anniversary dinner celebrating receiving the Royal Charter on 4 May in the refurbished Hall. It is the first major function in the Hall since its destruction in World War Two.
